We are excited to welcome volunteers who are flexible, eager to help, willing to try new things, and dependable. Since the main language for communication is English, we are looking for volunteers who are at least conversant in English. Kenyan lifestyle is different than many other parts of the world and we are sure that you will be able to learn many things from us as we learn many things from you.

Your volunteer experience will include teaching a lot of really cute kids something from your area of expertise. You are welcome to make home visits, learn the art of farming in Kenya, learn to cook Kenyan meals in the evening and whatever else may come up. Each day is unique with challenges and opportunities and we look to join with our volunteers to meet those challenges.

Our volunteer program enables you to experience life in East Africa and to truly have impact upon the lives of the children you will touch. Your participation will also make a real difference in the Molo, Kenya region, where poverty, tribal warfare and the HIV/AIDS epidemic have had a devastating effect. Chazon is currently taking care of 350 children.

We are a school that caters to the local community, regardless of religion, gender, race, or tribe.

The Chazon experience differs from most because our children are currently in the care of local guardians. The volunter program requires a contribution of $90 per week to cover the cost of accommodation, meals, and administrative fees as well as to contribute to the cost of current projects.

We offer orientation for our new volunteers to become acquainted with the local culture, language, and the project work. Please contact us at chazonchildrencentre@gmail.com for any questions or to be put in contact with past volunteers. As an organization, we try and provide volunteers with an experience of Kenyan lifestyle.

The volunteers stay in close accommodations, sharing rooms and bunk beds. Since we are just starting out, at this point, we can not accommodate many couples who want to sleep together, but we do have one room for a couple. If you are hoping to come with your partner, please let us know and we will tell you if that room is booked.

We truly appreciate your interest in volunteering at the Chazon Children’s Centre and we look forward to hearing from you!
