The Chazon program
We are excited to welcome volunteers who are flexible, respectful, eager to help, willing to try new things, and dependable. Since the main language for communication is English, we are looking for volunteers with a good level of spoken English. Kenyan lifestyle is different than many other parts of the world and we are sure that you will be able to learn many things from us as we learn many things from you.
Your volunteer experience will include assisting the teachers, creative activities or games, home visits, learning the art of farming in Kenya, learning to cook Kenyan meals in the evening, helping the Chazon Home children with their homework and daily duties, and whatever else may come up. But, above all, your main job will be to spend time with the children providing them with the love and care that they didn’t get from their relatives. Each day is unique with challenges and opportunities and we look to join with our volunteers to meet those challenges.
We are a school that caters to the local community, regardless of religion, gender, race, or tribe.
The program requires a contribution of 100€ per week to cover the cost of accommodation, meals, and administrative fees as well as to contribute to the cost of current projects.
We offer orientation for our new volunteers to become acquainted with the local culture, language, and the project work. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions or to put you in contact with past volunteers. As an organization, we try and provide volunteers with an experience of Kenyan lifestyle.
The volunteers stay in close accommodations, sharing rooms and often beds.
